Willie Earl Hunt

Willie Earl Hunt, a native of Alma, Alabama, and resident of Mobile, Alabama received his wings on January 31, 2021 while at Providence Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

     Early in life, Willie joined Antioch AME Church in Alma, Alabama. Willie enjoyed fishing, yardwork, gardening, Mardi Gras, and Alabama Football. Willie was a very kind soul with a winning smile which will be missed dearly.

     Willie Earl was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, uncle, and nephew with a host of cousins. Willie loved his big family, especially his grandchildren.

     Willie Earl Hunt was born on February 6, 1955. Preceding him in death was his Mother, Earline (George) Stokes and Father, Allen Williams. Three brothers, Jammie Lee, George Jr. (Punkin) and Lorenza.

     He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife and best friend of 40 years, Linda Kay Wright-Hunt; two children Nikki (Darwin Sr.) Harris of Fairhope, Alabama, and Melvin Dwayne Hill of Mobile, Alabama; five grandchildren, Melvin Hill Jr., Dontavious Hill, Zoe Harris, Darwin Harris Jr., and Keith Fredericks; sisters, Pauline Hunt and Ruby Fox-Tucker, Mobile, Alabama, Darlene Scott, Walker Springs, Alabama, Lurene (Calvin) Disroe, Marietta, Georgia, Lucille Williams-Nelson, Bronx, New York; four brothers, Andrew Roger Hunt, Willie Daffin, Timothy, and Larry Williams; mother-in-law, Fannie M. Burrell; one brother-in-law, John Wright; one sister-in-law, Sarah Wright Powe; six aunts, Eula (Spencer) Bernice, Jessie, Daisie, Minnie, Francis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, all of whom Willie genuinely loved. Devoted nephews, Frederick and Akerius Hunt; devoted nieces, Lauren, Tiandra and Cheryl; devoted cousins, Johnny (Tiawanee) Fletcher and Ronelle Nicholson.
