Carolyn Henry

HER LEGACY

On January 21, 2021, God called His servant Mother Carolyn Henry from labor to rest.

Mother Henry was born August 16, 1942 in Mobile, AL.

On June 30, 2000 she married Leroy Henry, who recently preceded her in death. They enjoyed each other’s company through fishing, expounding on the word and much laughter.

Mother Henry received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1980 at True Light Tabernacle Holiness Church in Linden, AL under the leadership of Apostle Charles Hunter.

She had a heart of evangelism as she would minister to the hearts of whoever she came in contact with throughout her day.  She never met a stranger.

Mother Henry Graduated from Mattie T. Blount High School in Prichard, AL. She attended Bishop State Community College in Mobile, AL and received her degree in Cosmetology. She owned and operated her beauty salons for over thirty-five years.

Mother Henry enjoyed baking cakes, for which she was known for her delicious pound cakes. She was a very skillful florist arranging bouquets, centerpieces and sprays for any occasion. She enjoyed socializing and making people laugh with her witty personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lindsey and Chaney Reed, husband Overseer Leroy Henry and siblings Diane and Charles Reed.

Nathaniel (Priscilla) Henry, Decatur, MS;  Bishop Obadiah (Nancee) Henry; Malachi (Mandy) Henry, DeLand, FL; Overseerer Zechariah (Lisa) Henry, Deltona, FL; Travis (Paula) Holcombe, Union, MS;  thirty three grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren & one great great grandchild. Siblings: Bernice Floyd, Youngstown, OH; Jackie Williams, Cleveland, OH; Lasharron Machil, Atlanta, Ga; Lindsey English, Mobile, AL. Sisters-n-law: Vernetta King, Velma Henry, Daytona Bch., FL; Brothers-n-law: Maxie (Beatrice) Henry, Buckatunna, MS; Ronnie Henry, Orlando, FL; Devoted Granddaughter: Chansie Jones, Mobile, AL; Godson: Robbie McAlman; Special Friends: Annie Poellnitz, Ida White, Dixons Mills, AL; Rebecca Coleman, Birmingham, AL; Betty Purifoy, Mobile, AL. A host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
